Overview
جبران خليل جبران (6 يناير 1883-10 أبريل 1931 م) شاعر وكاتب ورسام لبناني من أدباء وشعراء المهجر، ولد في بلدة بشري في شمال لبنان زمن متصرفية جبل لبنان، في سوريا العثمانية ونشأ فقيرا، كانت والدته كاميلا في الثلاثين من عمرها عندما ولد وكان والده خليل هو زوجها الثالث. ولم يتلق التعليم الرسمي خلال شبابه في متصرفية جبل لبنان. هاجر صبيا مع عائلته إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، ليدرس الأدب وليبدأ مسيرته الأدبية، والكتابة باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، امتاز أسلوبه بالرومانسية ويعتبر من رموز ذروة وازدهار عصر نهضة الأدب العربي الحديث، وخاصة في الشعر النثري.
