تتلخص الأحداث في الحكاية الحاضنة في زيارة يقوم بها شاب لجدته بعد غياب عنها وعن تونس دام عشرين سنة. وبمناسبة تلك الزيارة نتعرف على الجدة وعلى شيء من مسيرتها ومن شخصيتها. أما أهم حدث في هذه الحكاية فهو تكليف الجدة حفيدها بإيصال رسالة لمجلة \"المرايا\". وتتمثل الرسالة في زر مضغوط سيفهم القارئ أنه وثيقة تتضمن مجموعة من الروايات عن الثورة توصلت الجدة إلى جمعها وحافظت عليها طوال عشرين سنة. يتوصل الشاب إلى تبليغ الرسالة، ويغيب عن الركح كما تغيب الجدة ليتعاقب الرواة وتتعاقب معهم روايات عن الثورة التونسية بأحلام من عاشوها، بخيباتهم، بهواجسهم، وبمخاوفهم مما خبئ لهم في طياتها.
