هذا الكتاب للرحالة الإنجليزي إلدون رتر يصف فيه رحلته التي استمرت مدة عام في 25 مايو من عام 1925 من القاهرة إلى اليمن ثم إلى مكة المكرمة مرورا ببرك وحلي والقنفذة والليث ثم غادر مكة المكرمة بعد الحج متوجها نحو الطائف ثم إلى المدينة المنورة. وقد جعل المؤلف رحلته في جزأين أولهما عن رحلته من القاهرة إلى مكة المكرمة وتنتهي بمغادرة مكة المكرمة متوجها إلى الطائف وثانيهما عن رحلته إلى الطائف.
