Overview
حظي موضوع حماية المستهلك باهتمام المصارف المركزية والمؤسسات المالية الدولية منذ ّاقة في هذا الشأن، البنك الفدرالي سنوات عديدة. ومن المصارف المركزية العالمية السب الاحتياطي الأمريكي الذي أصدر في عام 1968 قانون الإفصاح في عمليات التمويل، تناول مسائل فيه كل ما يتعلق بتعاملات العملاء مع المصارف والمؤسسات المالية، وتحديدا الإفصاح عن التكلفة الفعلية للإقراض. كما أصدرت السلطات البريطانية، قانون مماثل في عام 1974 تمثل في قانون التمويل الاستهلاكي. كما صدرت قوانين مماثلة لدى العديد من الدول، تناولت جوانب حماية المستهلك في الخدمات المالية والمصرفية.
