يسعى الشاعر والمغني الشعبي طاهر سيف عبدالرحمن (أبو هشام الصافوطي) في كتابه الزجل الشعبي والعرس الفلسطيني الصادر حديثا بمبادرة شخصية منه وعن طريق مطبعة خاصة, إلى تعريف أكبر شريحة من الناس بفنون الفولكلور المختلفة في حقل الشعر والعزف والغناء. ويستفيد الصافوطي في كتابه الواقع في (142) صفحة من القطع (المتوسط الكبير) من خبرته الممتدة في حقل الزجل الشعبي وتفرعاته وهو الفن التراثي الذي تنقل فيه بين فلسطين حيث مسقط رأسه وملاعب الطفولة في قريته صافوط على الطريق الرئيسية بين قلقيلية ونابلس, وبعد ذلك الكويت مرورا بسورية إلى أن استقر به المقام أخيرا في الأردن.
