يستعرض كتاب (في الشعر الإفريقي المعاصر: جيل الرواد نموذجا) ترجمه الدكتور حسن الغرفي تجارب شعرية ونصوصا حديثة تستمد مادتها من الشعر الإفريقي المأخوذ من أفواه رواده المعاصرين والذين زاوجوا بين الأدب الأوروبي والشاعرية الممزوجة بالمعاناة الشديدة للإنسان الإفريقي. وقد اتخذت هذه الدراسة من سنغور وايمي سيزار وداماس نماذج طليعية لشعر \"الزنوج\" الأفارقة ونقل فيها الدكتور حسن الغرفي من خلال التجارب الشعرية الإفريقية ما مر به الإنسان في القارة الإفريقية وما عاناه عبر العصور من اضطهاد الإنسان الأبيض له. قسم الباحث كتابه هذا إلى 6 أقسام تحدث فيها عن : الزنوجة، ليوبولد سيدار سنغور، ايمي سيزار، الزنوجة في شعر محمد الفيتوري، من الشعر الإفريقي المعاصر.
