يتناول الكتاب علم التجويد والقراءات بشكل مبسط حيث انه يمتاز بسهولة الأسلوب مع القوة في الصياغة، وحسن العرض والتقسيم. فقد عرض فيه أحكام التجويد برواية حفص عن عاصم ثم أتبعها بفوائد تعم طالب العلم، وقدم تعريفات لبعض المصطلحات تعريف القراءات العشر. وقد تميز الكتاب فضلا عن سهولته ووضوح عباراته بشموله لمباحث مهمة من علوم شتى كالوقف والإبتداء ورسم المصاحف وضبطها فلم يقتصر مؤلفه على مباحث علم التجويد فقط.
