يروي هذا الكتاب كيف تمكنت إسرائيل من أن تصبح قوة نووية في السر. كما يحكي كيف كان أبرز المسؤولين السياسيين والعسكريين الأميركيين على بينة من هذا السر وكيف تكتموا عنه وتجاهلوه، عمدا في بعض الأحيان، منذ عهد الرئيس إيزنهاور. وسوف يجد القارئ في الكتاب اقتباسات عن عدد من أبرز المسؤولين المسؤولين الأميركيين، معظمهم يتكلم عن هذا الموضوع للمرة الأولى عما ومتى كانوا يعلمون بالأمر. لم يتكلم هؤلاء الرسميون بدافع عدائية يكنونها لحكومة إسرائيل، بل لأنهم أدركوا الخبث الذي تتستر به السياسة الأميركية عندما تدعي علنا أن لا وجود للترسانة النووية الإسرائيلية. ولا تزال هذه السياسة متبعة حتى تاريخ صدور هذا الكتاب.
