يعمل هذا الكتيب على تتبع قصة التاريخ الرائع لصناعة تعدين النحاس في العين بعد أن ظلت هذه القصة دون رواية حتى الآن، وتبدأ الرواية بسرد البدايات المتواضعة لهذه الصناعة قبل خمسة آلاف سنة، ثم تواصل سيرها عبر مختلف الأزمان مرورا بالعصرين البرونزي والحديدي عندما أخذت أساليب التعدين تصبح بالتدريج أكثر تطورا وارتقاء. وتصل قصة تعدين النحاس إلى ذروتها مع وصول الإسلام إلى المنطقة حين جرى إحياء تلك الصناعة وبعثها من جديد بعد ألف سنة من الركود الذي ران عليها كما تم رفع مستواها لتصبح صناعة مجدية ومربحة للغاية.
