يتضمن هذا الكتاب صفحات من تاريخ النضال الوطني الذي قاده وجيه أباظة منذ كان طالبا في المدرسة الثانوية ويكشف العديد من أسرار ثورة يوليو، التي كان له دور بارز فيها، فقد شارك في كل المعارك التي خاضها، إذ تولي مسئولية تدعيمها بالطيران فور قيامها، وتحمل عبء إعلامها فأنشأ صحافتها وأنتج الأفلام عنها. ويتناول الكتاب فصولا عن معارك الثورة ومشروعاتها التي أسهم فيها وكانت قضية مايو 1971 التي دخل بسببها السجن هي آخر فصول رحلة المناضل الوطني الثائر وجيه أباظة، ومن خلال هذه الحياة الحافلة يتعرض الكتاب لصفحات من تاريخ مصر منذ 1917 حتى عام 1970.
