يأخذنا الكاتب (فهمي هويدي) في كتابه (الإسلام في الصين) في رحلة للبحث عن ملف مسلمي الصين الضائع أو المفقود كما يسميه، واصفا لما شاهده هناك من حالهم، كيف وصلوا إلى هناك ؟ وكيف انتشر الإسلام أصلا في الصين ليتحول المسلمون من أقليات إلى أهل قرى كاملة جيل بعد جيل ؟ وما هي المراحل التي مر بها المسلمون هناك؟ وكيف تعاملوا معها ؟ الكثير من الأحداث المفرحة والمحزنة في هذا الكتاب، من بينها أزمة انقطاع مسلمي الصين عن بقية مسلمي العالم، مما يضطرهم إلى أداء صلاة الجمعة 14 ركعة.
