تتمثل الوظيفة الأساسية لهذه الندوة الدولية في تدعيم التواصل مع الفنون والثقافات العالمية، بما يشرى حركة الفنون والثقافة في مصر، دون إغفال للبعد الإنساني خاصة وأن الندوة الدولية هذه تتواكب زمنيا مع دخول أبواب القرن العشرين. وأن معرض ترينالي مصر الدولي لفن الجرافيك جزء من سياسات وزارة الثقافة، حيث يجتمع على أرضها أعمال فنانو 76 دولة في مختلف الفنون التشكيلية المعاصرة.
