\"مختار الصحاح\" كتاب في المعاجم فقد جاء الكتاب شارحا للألفاظ العربية الواردة في القرآن والسنة وأحاديث العرب وقد اجتنب فيه المصنف مشكل اللغة وغريبها طلبا للإختصار وتسهيلا للحفظ وهو معجم سهل التناول ومناسب لجميع الطلاب على مختلف مستوياتهم غير أن ترتيب الرازي كان على حروف أواخر الكلمات وقد امتاز معجم مختار الصحاح بإشارته في كثير من الأحيان في صدد الألفاظ الضعيفة والرديئة والمعربة وذكر الألفاظ الندرة والأضداد وعنايته بجوانب الصرف من اشتقاق وإبدال وإعلال.
