يتناول كتاب (شرح ديوان الحماسة) والذي قام بتأليفه (أبي زكريا يحيى بن علي التبريزي الشهير بالخطيب) في حوالي (2 مجلد) من القطع المتوسط موضوع (الشعر العربي الحماسي) والكتاب ينقسم إلى 4 أجزاء. يتناول الجزء الأول باب الحماسة، وفي الجزء الثاني تكملة باب الحماسة بالإضافة إلى باب المراثي، وفي الجزء الثالث تكملة باب المراثي بالإضافة إلى باب الأدب وباب النسيب، ويختتم بالجزء الرابع والذي يشمل باب الهجاء وباب الأضياف والمديح، وباب الصفات، وباب السير والنعاس، وباب الملح، وباب مذمة النساء.
