يتناول تراجم لـ 101 من شعراء الفصحى على عامود الشعر، ونماذج من أشعارهم تتراوح ما بين قصيدة إلى أربع قصائد لبعض الشعراء. ويمثل شعراء الموسوعة أجيالا عدة ومدارس شعرية مختلفة. وتضمنت مقدمة الموسوعة مصادر التاريخ الأدبي التي تعرضت للحركة الشعرية بالإمارات، والنقد الذي يوجه لتلك المصادر، والمدارس الشعرية التي تنتمي إليها (المحافظة-المتطورة-المتجددة)، وقد جاءت الموسوعة بنماذج لهذه المدارس، كما تعرضت المقدمة لرموز الشعر النبطي والفصيح، والتي أثرت الحياة الثقافية في الإمارات بإبداعاتها، والأسباب التي حالت دون توثيق الحركة الشعرية الإماراتية توثيقا دقيقا. واستعرض الباحث مراحل العمل على الموسوعة من الفكرة إلى الإصدار، كعمل توثيقي مرتب أبجديا لشعراء من مختلف المراحل والمدارس الشعرية، تركوا بصماتهم في أعمال توثق لمشهد ثقافي وحركة شعرية إماراتية متميزة.
