\"القومية العربية عقدة وحركة\" تلك هي الفكرة الأساسية التي يدور حولها هذا الكتاب الذي يقول عنه صاحبه إنها مجموعة من المحاضرات والأحاديث، ولكنه في واقع الأمر دراسة متكاملة لما يدور في أذهان الشباب العرب في هذه الأيام من أفكار تتصل بالقومة العربية في ماضيها القريب، وفي حاضرها ومستقبلها المرتجي بل هو ضياء تشع به بصيرة نفاذة لمفكر عربی مخلص، كتب من ذات نفسه، ويحكي قصة القومية العربية التي عاشها بفكره وقلبه خلال ربع قرن أو ما يزيد. وكأنه حين كتب كان ينظر في مرآة ناصعة فيرى صورة من نفسه، ويرى إطار الحياة العربية كلها من حوله وقد شملت حياته وفكره ومشاعره، فيستوحى من ذلك كله صورة صادقة أصيلة لا تزوق فيها ولا اصطناع، هي هذه التي اتخذت عنوان الكتاب \"من وحي العروبة\".
