يشير المؤلف في كتابه ويقول : كان من المقدر لهذا الكتاب الذي يضم بين دفتيه تسجيل واقعي لكفاح العمال في ليبيا وبوجه خاص نضال عمال برقة-مستقى من أشخاصة الحقيقين بين روده بلغهم-أن يكون بين أيدي القارىء منذ عام 1970 حيث نمت طباعة نسخه وقتئذ-ومع ذلك كنت ألمس أنه يحتاج لبعض إضافة أخرى-تحكي المزيد عن عمال طرابلس موقفهم من الشرق وعلاقاتهم بدول المغرب حتى يوضح مدى تطور العلاقة بين عمال الولايتين برقة وطرابلس التي تتابعت بين الانخفاض والارتفاع کأمواج المحيط المتلاطمة كل منها يريد الاندماج في الأخرى حيث أن طبيعة جزئياتها واحدة والعوامل الخارجية تريد لها التقسيم فعاشت متلاطمة متضاربة-وكان الشعب الليبي أقوى من الزمن وأقوى من العوامل الخارجية فتوج نضاله بوحدة أراضيه تحت راية واحدة تحمل اسم \"ليبيا المتحدة\".
