يأتي هذا الكتاب ليتناول \"تضاريس الأيديولوجيا\" من المعورف أنه قد أستعمل تعبير الأيدولوجيا Ideology لأول مرة من قبل الفيلسوف الفرنسي (ديستوت دي تراسي) في نهاية القرن الثامن عشر ولقد وصف دي تراسي التعاليم حول الأفكار وحول نشوئها وحول قوانين الفكر الإنساني بالأيدولوجيا ومع أسمي \"ماركس\" أو \"أنجلز\" دخل تعبير الايديولوجيا العلم الاجتماعي كتعبير سوسيولوجي، ولقد تم استعمال تعبير أيدولوجي من قبل مؤسسي الماركسية بصورة أساسية لمعنيين الأول للدلالة علي الوعي الخاطئي والتعبير المشوه عن الواقع الاجتماعي والثاني عندما أراد التأكيد علي تبعية حياة المجتمع الفكرية للواقع المادي واشتراطها به فاعتبرا الفلسفة وجميع التصورات السياسية والحقوقية للمجتمع ككل أو بطبقة معينة أيدولوجيا.
