تناول المؤلف في الكتاب حياة \"جابر بن حيان\" فقسم هذا الكتاب إلى تسعة فصول تعتمد فيه الأجزاء بعضها على بعض فتناول الفصل الأول محاولا أن يعرف شيئا عن شخصية جابر بن حيان ومتى عاش وبمن تأثر وما هى الكتب التى قام بتأليفها ؟ ويتناول الفصل الثاني والثالث المنهج العلمى الذى اعتمد عليه جابر وكيفية المقارنة بينه وبين فلاسفة المناهج العلمية، والفصل الرابع تحدث عن الفلسفة اللغوية لأهميتها الشديدة بالنسبة إلى نظرياته الكيموية، وجاء الفصل الخامس لذكر فلسفة جابر حيان الكونية، ويتحدث الفصل السادس عن البروج والكواكب، والفصل السابع يتناول علم الكمياء عند بن حيان، وفصل ثامن يصور جابر الفيلسوف، ثم جاءت خاتمة الكتاب لكى يبين لنا كيف لم يسلم هذا العالم من شطحات الخيال.
