تناول الكتاب سيرة حياة السيد البدوي حيث تناول في أول فصل عن حب العزلة عموما وأنها تبزيد كلما كان الوضع أسوأ وربط الرهبانية ونظام الأديرية في المسيحية بالوضع آنذاك وبعدها الشيعة والتشيع وعلاقتهم بالتصوف الإسلامي كمدخل لقصة السيد البدوي باقي الأربعة فصول تكلم فيهم المؤلف عن حياته ورحلته من فاس لمكة للعراق لمصر وكراماته الحسية اللي كانت موجودة والمادية اللي الناس ضافوها له مثل أنه كان بيحيي الموتى ويكلمهم وخلافه من الهراءات، تحدث في نقطة تأثير السيد البدوي وفضله في تأسيس طنطا كمدينة من البداية.
