تعتبر دراسة الاقتصاد الجزئي أمرا لابد منه للمتخصصين في العلوم التجارية. لذلك فهو يتم تدريسه لطلاب الفرقة الأولى بكليات التجارة على مستوى معظم الجامعات المصرية. ولقد حرصنا قدر المستطاع أن تكون موضوعات الكتاب غاية في التبسيط والوضوح بالقدر الذي يسهم في تسهيل الاستيعاب والفهم للدارسين. وقد تم تقسيم الكتاب إلى العديد من الفصول، فقد جاء الفصل الأول ليغطي مفهوم علم الاقتصاد، ثم بعد ذلك تناولنا نظريات الطلب والعرض وتوازن السوق ونظريات توازن المستهلك وتوازن المنتج، مع تغطية (الأسواق المختلفة)، منافسة، احتكار، منافسة احتكارية.
