يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن مآثر العرب على الحضارة الأوروبية حيث يهدينا تاريخ الحضارة التي رفع لواءها العرب منذ أواسط القرن السابع الميلادي إلى أن هذه الحضارة هي أطول الحضارات العالمية عمرا وأعظمها أثرا في المدنية الحديثة وقد اتسمت هذه الحضارة بسمة متجانسة فهي حضارة لم ينفرد بتكوينها أهل بقعة بعينها من بلاد العرب وإنما اشترك في تكوينها المجموعة العربية التي انصبت في الواحد وجمعتهم مشاعر واحدة ولغة واحدة وامال واحدة ظلت طوال الأعصر سواء أعاش العرب دولة موحدة أم دولا فرقتها أحداث التاريخ النبراس الذي يستضيء به العرب وهي القبلة التي يقتبلونها والمنهل الذي ينهلون منه جميعا.
