يقدم هذا الكتاب فكرة واضحة وشاملة عن الأساسات وكيفية عملها كما يوضح مبادئ تصميم الأساسات بجميع أنواعها وأشكالها. إن هذا الكتاب موجه لطلاب السنة الرابعة في كلية الهندسة المدنية. يتضمن سبعة عشر فصلا مع أمثلة ومسائل. الباب الأول (هندسة الأساسات) : يتألف الجزء الأول من اثني عشر فصلا من تأليف (الدكتور محمد عماد مشلح) اهتمت هذه الفصول بالخطوات الرئيسية للتصميم الجيوتكنيكي للأساسات وكذلك بالتصميم الإنشائي للأساسات بمختلف أنواعها. وقد وضع المؤلف جزءا كبيرا من خبرته العملية الهندسية شارحا كيفية تطبيق هذه الخبرة في مجال تصميم الأساسات الجيوتكنيكي والإنشائي. وتعتبر الطبعة الأولى هذه الخطوة الأولى في مجال تصميم الأساسات وسوف نعتمد في الطبعات اللاحقة على استدراك ما قد يكون قد قانتا من معلومات ... إلخ.
