يمثل المنعطف اللغوي في الفلسفة أسلوبا منهجيا جديدا في معالجة القضايا الفلسفية، كما يساهم بقوة في إثراء مباحث اللغة والتواصل ؛ وقد كان مبحث \"فلسفة اللغة\" ثمرة هذا التحول الذي عرفته النمسا بإمتياز، وهو التحول الذي نجد آثاره بادية في الفلسفة التحليلية. غير أن ما يميز فلسفة اللغة بالنمسا، في بداياتها الأولى، هو إرتباطها بمدارس علم النفس والظاهراتية. ولذلك، آثر المؤلف التركيز في هذه الدراسة، على الأعلام الذين ارتبط ذكرهم بالظاهراتية المبكرة، مثل برنتانو ومارتي وهوسرل، كما أنه اعتمد الآليات المنهجية التي توفرها الفلسفة التحليلية وفلسفة المنطق، مع محاولة الإحاطة بمجمل القضايا الفلسفية المطروحة في مبحث الدلالة خلال الحقبة المدروسة.
