تدور أحداث الرواية بين الأردن والخليل إذ يروي شخصية الرواية (هارون) حكاية الخليل لعدد من أصدقائه في مزرعة يحتجزهم الثلج فيها ليلة كاملة تستلهم الرواية حكاية (طالب) ينشأ في خضم التغول الإسرائيلي على المكان والإنسان الفلسطيني إذ ترصد الرواية حركة الإنسان الفلسطيني في الخليل وتتبع حركته مع المكان كل ذلك التاريخ الذي تهتم الرواية بأن لا ينسى أمام كل المحاولات في هذا الشأن عندما باشر عامر طهبوب كتابة \"في حضرة إبراهيم\" لم يخطر بباله أن يكتب رواية لقد نهرت ذاكرته عقله وقلبه المعلقين بفلسطين فرأى القراء أمام عينيه وأخذ يقص عليهم عبر الورق ما آلت إليه حال (الخليل القديمة) و(القدس العتيقة) من تزوير وطمس للجغرافيا والتاريخ والهوية شخوص الرواية حقيقيون وبعضهم ما زال على قيد الحياة لكنهم يختلطون مع شخوص آخرين من صنع الخيال.
