الحديث الصحفي هو اللقاء الذي يتم بين الصحفي وشخصية معينة بغرض الحصول على معلومات جديدة (حديث الخبر، الحقائق)، أو لمعرفة وجهة نظر (حديث رأي) أو يتناول جوانب مسلية وطريفة في حياة تلك الشخصية (حديث الإمتاع)، أو خبرة تستخلص من مصدر خلال حوار مع المحرر الصحفي، وما يميز الحديث الصحفي والإذاعي ويجعله مختلف بعض الشيء عن أي حوار عادي هو أن المحرر الصحفي هو الذي يحدد وجهة التساؤلات التي تثار أثناء الحوار.
