في نطاق الجهود التي تبذلها مؤسسة «دار الغرب الإسلامي» منذ إنشائها في مطلع الثمانينات، لإحياء تراث المرحوم الشيخ عبد العزيز الثعالبي ونشره، تقدم في هذا الكتاب مجموعة ثانية لم يسبق نشرها من المحاضرات التي كان ألقاها هذا المصلح التونسي الشهير من سنة 1926 إلى سنة 1930 في بغداد بجامعة آل البيت، حيث كان مكلفا بتدريس الفلسفة الإسلامية وحكمة التشريع في الشعبة الدينية العالية، ومن الجدير بالملاحظة أن هذه المحاضرات التي تحمل عنوان عاما، وهو «الفلسفة الإسلامية»، لم يقتصر صاحبها على البحث في هذا الموضوع دون سواه، بل تتطرق إلى كثير من المواضيع الأخرى دون أي ترتيب، مثل الفقه والتوحيد والتفسير والسيرة النبوية والتشريع الإسلامي ومقاصد الشريعة وعلم الكلام ... إلخ.
