Overview
تناول المؤلف التعريف بسيد قطب والفترة التى عاشها، ثم عرض لتجربته الأدبية مع الخروج ببعض الملاحظات والنتائج، ثم العوامل التي حولته من الأدب إلى اتجاه الدعوة الإسلامية حيث الظروف المحيطة به والظروف والشخصية ورحلته إلى أمريكا. كان سيد قطب شاعرا، وكتب قصص وروايات ومقالات، وناقدا أدبيا، غزير الإنتاج، قبل أن يترك هذا كله ويتحول إلى الدعوة الإسلامية، ويتفرغ للكتابة في شؤون الإسلام. وليس من السهل أن يمر الباحث في حياة الرجل وفكره مرور الكرام بهذا التمرد. وليس من السهل أيضا أن يمر المشتغل بالتاريخ الثقافي الحديث دون أن يستوقفه هذا التمرد غير العادي. فهو في كلتا الحالين تحول مثير للتساؤل. ولو كان صاحبه جمع بين الأدب والإسلام كما فعل محمد حسين وأحمد حسن الزيات لما أثار أي تساؤل.
