لهذا الكتاب طموح لن يعيننا على تحقيقه سواك، فخطاب العولمة قد شاع وعم ويكاد يستفحل، أما خطاب العولمة المضادة فإنه لم ير النور بعد وإن حملت به كل النفوس التي أخلصت إلى الإنسانية مهجتها ليست السياسة في هذا الكتاب مقصدا في حد ذاتها، ولا الاقتصاد، وإنما الغرض المنشود هو المسألة الثقافية بكل أعماقها وأبعادها وسطوتها الشاملة بين العولمة والعولمة المضادة سنحاول أن نخترق الحجب ونمشي على الأشواك كي نميط الأقنعة الثقافية العربية في مواجهتها للنظام العالمي الجديد، وسنتوسل بمنهج نستحدث تطبيقه في هذا السياق ولهذا الغرض هو المنهج السيميائي متخذين من الظاهرة السياسية ومن الظاهرة الاقتصادية منظومة من القرائن والعلامات والأمارات نفك شفرتها بواسطة المجهر الثقافي، إنه بحث في سيمياء الثقافة بين الفكر العربي والنظام العالمي.
