تعد نظرية الحلول العددية للمعادلات التفاضلية الجزئية والتكاملية من أهم المقررات الرياضية، نظرا لما لها من تطبيقات في فروع العلوم الهندسية، والفيزيائية، والعلوم الأخرى، فمعظم الظواهر في الفيزياء الرياضية، والمجالات الهندسية يعبر عنها من خلال المعادلات التفاضلية مثل تدفق الحرارة، وإنتشار الموجات، ولا يخفى على أحد الدور الرئيسي للمعادلات التفاضلية الجزئية في ميكانيك الكم، وفيزياء البلازما، وميكانيك الموائع بالإضافة إلى العديد من الظواهر التي توصف بإستخدام المعادلات التفاضلية الجزئية. لذا يسعدني أن أقدم هذا الكتاب باللغة العربية، ولا شك أن المكتبة العربية تفتقر كثيرا إلى الكتب العلمية في مختلف فروع العلوم النظرية، والتطبيقية، والتكنولوجية، وهو ما أدى إلى جعل المعادلات التفاضلية الجزئية، والتكاملية مقصورة على قارئ اللغة الأجنبية.
