رحلة شارل دوفوكو إلى المغرب في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر هي جزء من الرحلات التي قام بها الأوروبيون بعد أن كسر الباب إثر الصعوبات السياسية والعسكرية والمضايقات التي عرفتها بلادنا منذ الاحتلال الفرنسي للجزائر عام 1830 وتوقيع المغرب معاهدة اللغة الإنجليزية عام 1856 وما في حكمها في حرب إيسلي واحتلال تطوان، انتهز الأوروبيون فرصة للتعرف على هذا البلد الذي امتنع عنهم منذ قرون، وطالما كانت رقابه مقيدة للاستيلاء على موارده، على الرغم من الظروف المشبوهة التي أحاطت بتلك الرحلة وصاحبها، فقد حققت من الناحية العلمية نتائج ميدانية مهمة للغاية لا تزال مرجعا للباحثين في تاريخ المغرب وجغرافيته حتى الآن.
