يسعى حجي جابر في هذا العمل إلى إعادة الاعتبار لامرأة هررية رافقت آرثر رامبو في سنواته الأخيرة في الحبشة، دون أن يأتي الشاعر الفرنسي على ذكر عشيقته بكلمة واحدة في رسائله الكثيرة إلى أمه، ولتسقط بذلك من كتب التاريخ. يمنح حجي الهررية اسما وصوتا وتاريخا وذاكرة، ويمنحنا بالتالي فرصة لرؤية رامبو من وجهة نظر الأحباش وكأنه بذلك يقلب الصورة فيزيح رامبو إلى الهامش ويجلب العشيقة الحبشية إلى متن الحكاية عبر سرد بعض ما جرى والكثير مما لم يحدث، إضافة إلى قصص الحب المبتورة ومسارات الحكاية المتداخلة زمنيا، يتناول النص هرر مدينة البن والقات حين كانت بمثابة مكة الإفريقية، يحرم على غير المسلمين دخولها، وتنسج حولها الحكايات التي أغرت الرحالة من كل مكان في وقت كانت القوى الكبرى تعيد تشكيل منطقة القرن الأفريقي.
