هذا الكتاب إطلالة على ذاكرة وديع فلسطين أحد أبرز المؤرخين فهو أديب الصحفيين، حيث جمع بين الصحافة والأدب فكان مبدعا في المجالين. والكتاب يتضمن العديد من المعلومات عن وديع فلسطين ... ومنها أنه اشتغل في شبابه بجريدة المقطم ومجلة المقتطف لسنوات ثم أصبح رئيسا للتحرير قبيل توقف المطبوعة مع مجيء ثورة يوليو عام 1952 م. كما عمل وديع فلسطين في مجلة قافلة الزيت واستكتب فيها العقاد وطه حسين وكبار كتاب مصر. وكتب في المجلة العربية. ومن مؤلفاته : قضايا الفكر في الأدب المعاصر ... ومختارات من الشعر المعاصر ... وهجرة الأدباء الشوام. كما ترجم عدد من الكتب الغربية إلى اللغة العربية. وتضمن الكتاب مجموعة من المقالات التي تقدم صورة للحياة العربية في ذلك الوقت وتتحدث عن القضايا الفكرية والثقافية والاجتماعية، ومكانة المرأة وضرورة تثقيفها والارتقاء بها.
