يقدم هذا الكتاب لدراسة فكرة متكاملة عن تشريح الجملة العصبية، وعن أقسامها وترابطاتها، ليتمكن الطالب من رسم صورة متكاملة لهذا الجهاز المعجز في خلقه، وتوضع تراكيبه وسبله ومحطاته الأساسية، وعلاقاتها بعضها مع بعض. وقد أغنيت فصول الكتاب بالمفاهيم السريرية اللازمة والتي سيتعمق الطالب في دراستها لاحقا في مراحل دراسته السريرية. وسيجد الطالب في فصول الكتاب الأربع عشرة معلومات عن التراكيب العميقة للدماغ وعن المخيخ وجذع الدماغ والنخاع الشوكي مقرونة بأكثر من 250 شكل ترسيمي تعين الطالب على فهم ما ورد في متن النص وتساعد على تبسيط وتوضيح بعض التراكيب المعقدة. وهنا نشير إلى أن استخدام الطالب للرسم في أثناء دراسة هذا المقرر يشكل أداة مساعدة تذلل في وجهه بعض المفاهيم المتراكبة وتبسط الأفكار وتعينه على استذكارها.
