كتاب المدونة هذا هو عبارة عن دليل ببليوغرافي توثيقي لصحافة سورية، اتبع فيه مبدأ التقميش المتعارف عليه بأنه يعتمد على \"جمع المعلومات من هنا وهنالك\"، كما حدده السلف الصالح، مع ذكر المصادر المعتمدة ومظانها. رتبت مواد هذه المدونة ترتيبا هجائيا حسب اسم الدورية واشتملت على الأمور التالية: 1-اسم الدورية، أو \"المطبوعة الموقوتة\"، كما عرفت في قانون المطبوعات. 2-اسم صاحب الامتياز، الأفراد والمؤسسات. 3-رئيس التحرير، إذا ما توفر ذلك. وربما اجتمعت صفة المؤسسة للدورية ورئيس تحريرها بنفس الشخص. 4-نوع الدورية وموضوعها. على سبيل المثال: جريدة يومية سياسية، الخ. أو مجلة شهرية علمية زراعية، الخ. 5-مكان صدور الدورية. 6-تاريخ صدور الدورية، وإعادة صدورها إذا ما توقفت. 7-ذكر المصادر المعتمدة: كتب، أو دوريات، أو أدلة دور الكتب.
