صدر حديثا للكاتب والمترجم السوري (مالك صقور) كتاب بعنوان \"لماذا الفن ؟\"، وهو عبارة عن دراسة تطبيقية يسعى من خلالها لتسليط الضوء على جمال الإنسان وأناقته وإبداعاته ومواهبه التي كانت سببا في نشوء الحضارات منذ القديم إلى يومنا هذا. ويرى صقور في كتابه الجديد أن \"الفن ظاهرة اجتماعية مغرقة بالقدم وعمرها منذ أن وجد الإنسان إلى يومنا هذا، والفن يطهر الروح ويحرر الإنسان من الشوائب والأخطاء\". ويشير إلى أن \"نشوء الفن له نظريات مختلفة غربية ومادية إلى أن وصل إلى تاريخ الفن القديم ودور المرأة في كثير من الجماليات التي وصلت إلينا\"، مستشهدا بأقوال فنانين وباحثين وكتاب. ويلفت صقور إلى ما قدمه سقراط وأفلاطون وأرسطو وغيرهم من فلسفات ونظريات دعمت الثقافة والفن مبينا أن \"الشعر يجمع بين اللوحة والموسيقى والقصة\".
