يعتبر الجدل الباشلاري أحد أبرز السمات المميزة للإبستيمولوجا الـمعاصرة، المتصلة بإعادة بناء تاريخ العلوم، إنه جدل يختلف تماما عن الجدل الفلسفي الكلاسيكي، من حيث اعتباره يشكل عائقا ابستيمولوجيا، فيما يتعلق بلغتي الخطاب والاختبار الابستيمولوجيين المعاصرين، إن تجديل المعارف والنظريات يتلخص أساسا في إعادة تشكيل المقولات والمفاهيم الابستيمولوجية التي تهدف إلى تأسيس الفلسفة المفتوحة، أما فيما اتصل بالفكر العلمي الباشلاري فإنه فكر يتمحور حور منطق التكامل، ويعتبر مغايرا تماما للمنطق الجدلي الأفلاطوني، كما يختلف عن المنطق الجدلي الهيغلي وكذا المنطق الماركسي.
