يقدم الكاتب بحثا فى تاريخ الأدب الأندلسي الشهير لحقبة من أهم حقب التاريخ الأدبي عالميا، حيث يمثل الأدب الأندلسي حقبتين مختلفتين ولد خلالهما تاريخ كبير من الأدب والثقافة العريقة، حيث تناول كيف يتم الفصل بين الأدب العربي في المشرق والأدب العربي في الأندلس ؟، وهل نحن قادرون على الفصل التام ؟، وهل نستطيع الفصل بين الأدبين المغربي والأندلسي، وتناول الموضوعات التالية : الأندلس أصل ومعنى، وتناول كلمة الأندلس لدراسة أصلها ومكان تحدرها، واستعرض العصور التاريخية التي مر بها الوجود العربي في الأندلس من فتح الأندلس إلى سقوط مملكة غرناطة على يد أبي عبد الله الصغير.
