يتناول الكتاب متالورجيا المساحيق، وهو فرع من علم الفلزات (المتالورجيا) يتناول كيفية إعداد المساحيق الفلزية وتصنيعها ودراستها علميا وتطبيقيا، ويهتم بتصنيع السبائك من مساحيق مكوناتها وذلك بخلطها وكبسها (تدميجها) في شكل المنتج المطلوب ثم تلبيدها، ويستخدم هذا الأسلوب إما لاستحالة إنتاج السبائك بالصهر لعدم امتزاج مكوناتها في الحالة السائلة أو لصعوبة صهرها.
