لا يحترم النمل الحدود الطبيعية. فيمكن أن تمتد مستعمراته أحياناً عبر بلدان عدة، ويتواصل أعضاء مجتمعاتها بسهولة عبر الحدود التي تفصل البشر من خلال اللغة . وهكذا، فإن النمل يتمتع بالقوة التي يتمتع بها الأدب في قدرة هذا الأخير على اجتياز الحدود المصطنعة التي تفرضها السياسة والدين والعرقية والأيديولوجيات. ولهذا السبب يسرني جداً تضمين كتابي في هذا المشروع العربي الرائد للترجمة. وكلي أمل بأن تجد هذه المغامرة ما يوازيها باللغة الإنكليزية، لكي يتسنى لنا أن نقرأ بالإنكليزية المزيد من أعمال الكتاب والكاتبات العرب.
