تبحث هذه الدراسة في سيمياء المكان وشعريته الأدبية، بصرف النظر عن الشكل الشعري، رغم أنه من غير الممكن الانفكاك والانسلاخ تماما من تجليات الشكل ودلالاته، وأثره على المتلقي في المقاربة ما بين النصين الشعريين العمودي والنثري. واختار الباحث تطبيقا لدراسته تجربتي الشاعرين العمانيين عبد الله بن علي الخليلي وسماء عيسى، وجاء هذا الاختيار لأسباب من أبرزها شهرة هذين الشاعرين في الساحة الأدبية العمانية والعربية، وقلة الدراسات النقدية حولهما رغم عطائهما الشعري، لا سيما الدراسات المتصلة بدلالات المكان الشعري، ويسعى المؤلف إلى تحقيق هدفين أساسيين من كتابه : بيان دلالات المكان وجمالياته المتعددة، والموازنة والمقاربة ما بين القصيدة العمودية وقصيدة النثر في تناول المكان والفضاء السيميائي.
