تدور أحداث الرواية في مدينة الإسكندرية، في إحدى الحارات التراثية، حيث تلتقي الدراما مع التراث مع الأسطورة، وذلك من خلال السرد، الذي يقوم بتجسيد المشاهد على نحو يجعلها تطرح آمال الناس وآلامها، من خلال شخوص واقعية، تلتقى مع شخوص تاريخية وأسطورية، تساعد في إبراز الهدف، وتوصيل الرسالة في سياق فنى ودرامى حداثى. يلتقي بطل الرواية مع شهرزاد الحكاءة الأسطورية، وهي إحدى الشخصيات الرئيسية أيضا، والتى تحكى حكايات البلاد والعباد، وذلك عندما يكشف البطل عورات بعض المسؤولين ويلتقط لهم صورا، ويفضح أمرهم من خلال الإنترنت، وتهيج العامة على أثر تلك الصور، ويتحرى المسؤلون عمن فضح أمرهم، وأظهر عوارهم، حتى يعلموا بأمره، فيطاردونه ليحل معتقلا، لينال ماناله غيره من كل صنوف التعذيب، لدرجة أنهم اقتحموا عورته، وأفقدوه ذاكرته، وفى إحدى مرات التعذيب اعتقدوا بأنه فارق الحياة، فألقوه في الشارع فاقدا للوعي والذاكرة.
