الكتاب الذي توج رحلة إلى الصين في مهمة علمية للتدريس في جامعة بكين للغات، بتكليف من كلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية في الرباط، يستعيد الكاتب المغربي محمود عبد الغني العلاقة القديمة للمغاربة مع الصين، ممثلة في الرحالة الشهير ابن بطوطة، مستشهدا بقول لهذا الأخير جاء فيه: «وأهل الصين أعظم الأمم إحكاما للصناعات، وأشدهم إتقانا لها»، ليكتب تحت عنوان: «أين صورتي؟»: «من أهم الصناعات التي اعتادوا عليها الصينيون، كما ذكر ابن بطوطة في رحلته، فن تصوير كل من يمر ببلدهم من الغرباء. ففي القرن الرابع عشر كان الصينيون يرتابون من الغريب، ويحتاطون من أن يرتكب فعلا يوجب فراره عنهم فيقومون بتصويره. فكانوا يصورونه ويبعثون صورته في كل البلاد».
