هذا الكتاب الصادر ضمن سلسلة كتاب الشهر في عددها 56 التي تصدرها دار سحر يكشف عن شخصية هذا الرحالة الذي عاش في تونس وذلك بعد تدخل من شخصين كما يذكر أنس الشابي وهما محمد بن عثمان السنوسي (1851-1900) وشيخ الإسلام أحمد بن الخوجة (1830-1896)، الكتاب تضمن فهرسا في القصائد والمقالات المنشورة في الصحافة التونسية أثناء أقامته في تونس ومجموعة من الصور النادرة وتعريفا بالصحف التي نشر فيها فيها أعماله كما نشر نعي جريدة الزهرة له عندما توفي في 6 نوفمبر 1933 في مدينة سوسة وقد أنهى حياته في ظروف أقرب إلى التسول والفقر المدقع في مدينة سوسة معلما للصبيان.
