Overview
الحب الوحيد الذي لا يؤثر فيه الزمن ولا يفترسه النسيان هو : الوطن. كلما مرت سنة على غياب الوطنية يكبر هذا الحب ويتعمق بل يتحول إلى نوع من العبادة. عندما يكتب نبيل خوري مجموعته القصصية الأولى عن الوطن (عام 1951) لم يكن يحب فلسطين كما يحبها الآن. عندما عاش حرب 1967 في القدس وشاهد ضياع \"بقية الوطن\" وشعر بأن جزءا جديدا في قلبه قد انسلخ عنه، كتب رواية \"حارة النصارى\". وعندما انطلق العمل الفدائي ليحرر \"الوطن\" كتب \"الرحيل\"... في الكويت. وعندما بدأت المؤامرات لذبح العمل الفدائي، كانت \"القناع\" وكتبت في باريس. لا شيء يربط بين الروايات الثلاث إلا فلسطين... وعنصر الزمن... مروة واحدة أثناء حرب تشرين كاد الزمن يلغي نشرها فلقد أعتقد أن الزمن ألغى مبرر نشرها تجاوزها لكنه فجع من جديد. فكان لا بد من النشر... تأكيدا على أن \"لا شيء تغير\".
