Overview
تجدر الإشارة في البداية إلى أن المعجمية (lexicologie) التي تعني بدراسة الألفاظ هي الأصل، ويدخل في نطاقها المصطلحية (terminologie) التي تدرس المصطلح، ذلك أن المصطلح عبارة عن لفظ متخصص. ومن ثم، فإن هذا الاختلاف في طبيعة المادة التي يدرسها كل منهما مكنت المصطلحية من أن تصبح علما مستقلا بذاته وإن كان يشترك مع المعجمية في الكثير من النقاط كما سنقف عنده لاحقا.
