كتاب أدب الكاتب لابن قتيبة الدنيوري، هو أحد أركان الدب الأربعة التي ذكرها ابن خلدون، ورأى ما سواها فرعا عليها وخلفا منها، وهو متن لغوي فريد من تون اللعربية الجياد العتاق الأول، وفيه مقيدات من أسرار اللغة لا يعدم الناظر فيها فوائد جمة، وفي هذا الكتاب اختيارات لبعض أبوابه يمور بالفوائد الأدبية واللغوية التي تزيد من يطلبها زيادة استبصار فتقوم لسانه وتقوي بالعلم بنانه.
