يتناول هذا الكتاب الشاعر والأديب مصطفى صادق الرافعي، من حيث نشأته وتربيته، وتعليمه، وكيف كان في أول أمره شاعرا ثم تحول إلى الكتابة، وأسلوبه المتماوج بين سحر البلاغة بقوة معانيها وتأثيرها وجمال الصور الأدبية المستمدة من الطبيعة، فنمت كتاباته عن قصائد نثرية فيها الوصف والغزل والتحليل والتفسير لذلك الخط الخفي الذي يخفق له القلب، ثم لامست د. منيرة فاعور أوراق الرافعي في إضاءة على كتبه الثلاثة \"حديث القمر، ورسائل الأحزان، وأوراق الورد\" مختارة مقتطفات من أجمل رسائله، كونه اعتمد على فن الرسائل في تدوين أفكاره. كما اعتمدت على التوثيق في سرد السيرة الذاتية له باختزال، فأوردت بعض الأمور التي يجهلها كثيرون عنه.
