في \"أزاهير الخراب\" هناك قصص وحكايات مبعثرة تحتاج إلى من يتأملها جيدا على انفراد أو يدمجها معا أو يعيد ترتيبها من جديد خصوصا أ ن أزمانها المتعددة تتوزع على ثلاث مراحل وهي ثلاثينات القرن الماضي وستيناته ثم نصل إلى مرحلة التسعينات وليس بالضرورة أن يأخذ الزمن منحى خطيا مستقيما فقد يعمد الراوي إلى التن قل بين المراحل حسب الأحداث والمواقف التي يم ر بها وربما يؤكد الحدث الأول صحة ما نذهب إليه إذ يتذكر الراوي في 24 أبريل (نيسان) 1933 انتحار زوجين شابين لأسباب غامضة ثم يقفز إلى الستينات ليخبرنا بقصة ديفيز نزيل الغرفة المجاورة في شارع دولامبر الذي أمضى ثلاث سنوات في الجبال لكنه نفر من الحرب وأخيرا ينهمك في قصة باشيكو الذي يمتلك عددا من الأصدقاء المغاربة والاسكندنافيين ويتقنع باسم.
