يضم ديوان حافظ الشيرازي مجموع شعره المعروف، وأشهر ما فيه الغزليات وهي قصائد غزل تعد أربعمئة وخمسا وتسعين قصيدة وإن الميزة التي ينفرد بها حافظ هي أن كل بيت من كل قصيدة من قصائده مستقل عن سابقه، لا يرتبط بلاحقه، فكل بيت هو قصيدة وفي كل بيت لوحة رائعة الجمال لرسام عبقري الخيال ولم يذكر حافظ اسم معشوقته في غزلياته، بل كنى عنها بأسماء عديدة، ولم يستطع شاعر أن يعبر عن روحه وفكره ومشاعره كما عبر حافظ وفي شعره تكرار جميل يجعل في كثير من الأحيان الكلمة الواحدة قافية لغزليته.
